Sure! All secondary containers in the office have a secondary label with the corresponding pictogram.

At my currently workplace we have a detailed emergency plan and we do trainings frequently, we have identified which place in the office would be safer and more resistant to use as a shelter.
Trish we have labels and the corresponding pictograms in each toxic substances. We continually update protocols and conduct training with all staff.

Trish, yes it does. My protective glasses covering my prescription glasses create a seal against my face.

Trish, I feel very comfortable and safe with face shield but in our pediatric practice is difficult, we need to establish a closer connection with patients.

Well Trish, I always joke about my utility gloves are the cleanest thing in the office. Wearing the gloves I wash my hands (gloves on) and after cleaning it with a caviwipe I take them off and hang them.

I have worked in dental offices where I never saw an evacuation plan or emergency training. I worked in Puerto Rico in 2020 during an earthquake, I remember that evacuating the office with patients was something terrifying that we were not prepared for. Because of this, I think is very important to have a clear evacuation plan in case of emergency. In the case of toxic substances, many people tend to work with them without knowing the real dangers or only read the preparation instructions without knowing its components.

Yes, employers with 10 or fewer employees are partially exempt from record keeping. At least they have been instructed to do it by OSHA.

Hi Trish, we use heavy duty gloves to clean the office, to clean and disinfect dental chairs and surfaces, when handling chemicals and we use a second pair in the sterilization area. I usually wear gloves size small but in the case of utility gloves I wear size M. How we handle it? We mark the gloves with our names and we have a designated area to place them after each use.

Hi Trish, my question is because I have seen sharp containers with dental appliances or other things. I only use the sharps container for needles, ortho wires, broken dental instruments like scalers or broken appliance with a potential hazard.

Thanks Natalia, I am going to looking for that brand. I need to improve the way I use my glasses. Now I am wearing my protective glasses on a strap and keeping my prescription’s glasses in my pocket between patients.
Trish, that answer is difficult. I know that there is not excuse, I encourage my colleagues to follow all the protection rules but even I sometimes forget it.

Totally agree with you Angela. Also, something that is often not taken seriously is the importance of evacuation training.
