Final Assignment II: HIPAA Security Rule Assignment

You are required to complete this assignment related to the Security Rule for the satisfactory completion of this course.

Directions:

Step 1: Select one of the Security Standards or Implementation Specifications discussed in the course. Remember there were 9 Security Standards and each Standard had Required or Addressable Implementation Specifications. You can review this list in Module VI.

Step 2: Search the Internet for a short but relevant security article or blog on your selected Security Standard or Implementation Specification. Examples include but are not limited to security awareness training, ransomware, or passwords. 

Step 3: Summarize: 

1. Why your selected Standard or Implementation Specification is important to your practice setting; 
2. If you learned anything new in the article/blog you read; and 
3. Whether you think your existing office protocols are sufficient to protect ePHI. 

Your summary should be at least 100 words but no more than 300 words. You must address all three items in your written summary. Then upload your assignment for grading. Please allow up to 3-business days for grading.
